When does enduring become strength, and when does it become an excuse for inaction?

Meet a person facing a difficult setback, then consider what patience might mean alongside grief, support, and action. The experience does not explain why hardship happens or prescribe a single faithful response.

Step 01

The setback

After a burst pipe damages her apartment, Noor has to stay with relatives while repairs are arranged. She is tired of repeating the story to landlords, insurers, and work. Some days she wants to make calls; other days she needs to rest.

The situation is hard, and Noor's feelings do not have to fit one pattern. Nothing here tells us why the damage happened or what it means about her faith.

Reflect

When you face a setback, what kinds of support or action might be available?
