Majlis of Pursuit

About

Curiosity first. Honesty always.

Majlis of Pursuit is for anyone curious about big questions, whatever they believe. We don't ask you to agree. We ask you to look at the evidence and think it through.

01 · Labels

Four kinds of claim

Every claim you read is labelled as one of four kinds, so you always know what you're looking at.

01

Historical finding

Supported by historical, documentary or scientific evidence that specialists broadly accept. Disputed findings are marked and explained.

For example: A manuscript is dated by radiocarbon testing.

02

Religious teaching

What Islamic sources teach. We present it as belief, cite the source text and do not label it as historical proof.

For example: The Quran teaches that honesty is a duty.

03

Scholarly interpretation

A reading of the evidence made by scholars. We say whose reading it is, cite it and note when others disagree.

For example: A historian argues why a text was written.

04

Editorial explanation

Context or framing written by our editors to help you follow the story. It is not presented as evidence and is never a substitute for a source.

For example: Before looking at the evidence, consider what you would expect to find.

Examples show how labels work; they are not claims made on this platform.

02 · Process

How content is made

  1. Research

A research brief gathers primary sources and scholarship.

  2. Writing

Writers turn the research into an experience. Each claim links to its sources.

  3. Review

Reviewers check every religious, historical and scientific claim before anything is published.

  4. Correction

Corrections from readers are reviewed, and any change is recorded in the version history.

03 · Privacy

Your privacy

You don't need an account. We never try to identify you or guess what you believe.

When visit counting is enabled, a random session identifier stays in memory only, not browser storage. We record anonymous sessions and general page categories for up to 18 months; a temporary keyed network hash limits abuse. Visits are not unique people. Shared links carry the experience only — never your answers.

Your progress, discovery map and kept discoveries are saved only in this browser, on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data, or using the “Clear my progress” button on the Explore page, removes them.
